I was 13, I was going to be a journalist. I had stories to tell, stuff to say. ‘No,’ said Mr Hayes in my last days of primary school, ‘you can’t be a journalist – you’re a girl, I bet you’ll be a schoolteacher’ – I became neither. But here I am writing children’s books … and other stuff!

With two successful children’s books, and other fictional work in anthologies, besides recognition in a couple of national writing competitions, writing blogs will be one of my next challenges, so watch this space!

Over the last few years I’ve also travelled a bit, journaling as I moved around. I’ll be posting some of these stories and photos also.

Peru (Huaraz)  One hot day, I rode a horse through a tiny town and up through little villages and farming communities  stretched over the lower slopes of one of the mountains in Cordillera Blanca, Peru – separate from the Andes, yet still at 3,000m.
